A Three-Week Journey into the Music and the History

Return to "Looking Forward at the Past"
Eilean Donan Castle, perhaps the most-often photographed castle in Scotland

On April 29, 2000 I and a dozen of my friends left Dallas bound for Glasgow, Scotland.  Our itinerary for the next two weeks would be to follow our host, Ed Miller, around and across his native homeland.  Ed, a brilliant song writer and story teller who now resides in Austin, had designed a 2-week overview of Scotland - his intention was to introduce us and a couple dozen others from various parts of the United States to a few of Scotland's song writers and the sites that inspired their music.

The third week of this trek I struck out on my own, having left the remainder of the tour group at the Glasgow Airport bound for home.  My destination was the Hebrides Islands.

The following pages and pictures are highlights from my visit.  If only there was a way to share the sounds as well.

I hope you enjoy this sampling from my vacation.  If you would like to see or hear more about the trip, you can email me at curtmudgeon@mindspring.com.
